us_politicsSeveral have asked me if I want to see our new President succeed – to have a great Presidency.  I reply NO!!  Before you get out of joint, think about this for a moment.  I’m a conservative, a Christian conservative.  If the new President is successful, that means his liberal policies are put into practice.  These practices go against what it means to be a conservative.  So therefore, I hope he doesn’t succeed.  Now this doesn’t mean I won’t be praying for him and his family.

This leads me to something else.  Our founding fathers fought hard for me and others today to have life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.  Here’s the problem with the left.  The left doesn’t stand for life – they stand for abortion.  They don’t stand for liberty – they now tell you how to live your life, what kind of children to raise, what soft drinks you should be drinking, you cannot smoke, you must share your wealth with others.  This is not liberty.  They don’t stand for pursuit of happiness – ever met a happy liberal?

Obama to Lift Ban on Funding for Groups Providing Abortions Overseas

Source:  Foxnews.com

President Obama will issue an executive order on Thursday reversing the Bush administration policy that bans the use of federal dollars by non-govermental organizations that discuss or provide abortions outside of the United States.

Obama will sign the executive order on the 36th anniversary of the landmark Roe v. Wade Supreme Court ruling that legalized abortion in all 50 states.

The policy, known in governmental circles as the “Mexico City policy,” requires any non-governmental organization to agree before receiving U.S. funds that they will “neither perform nor actively promote abortion as a method of family planning in other nations.”

The language was announced at the United Nations International Conference on Population in 1984, and was approved by President Reagan and originally drafted by his assistant secretary of state, Alan Keyes.

Keyes ran unsuccessfully as the GOP nominee against Obama for the U.S. Senate in 2004.

President George Herbert Walker Bush continued Reagan’s Mexico City policy.

President Bill Clinton issued an executive order lifting the ban on Jan. 22, 1993. President George W. Bush issued an executive order re-instating the ban on federal dollars for NGOs that discuss or provide abortions on Jan. 22, 2001.

Let the Obamania begin

While this is a historic day with our new President, I’m amazed at the “hype” from the people.  The media is making this look like God is taking the oath of office.  Don’t get me wrong.  I didn’t vote for him, but I do sincerely wish him well.  He is my President, and I will certainly pray for him and his family.

Honest Mistake?

President Elect Obama’s pick for Treasury Secretary is in hot water today.  Today Obama said that the Secretaries failure to pay back taxes was “a mistake.”  So, here is my question.  Can I not pay taxes and then when I get caught, say “it was a mistake?”  Why is it okay for politicians and other high rollers be exempt from the law?  If I didn’t pay taxes, I would be in jail today!!

I know many on the east side of Washington State didn't vote for our new president.  However, we can still pray for him.  Here is an interesting article I discovered today.

It’s over. We’ve reached the end of the longest, angriest and most nerve-wracking presidential campaign in American history. Finally the “I approved this message” ads have ceased. The endless robot phone calls have stopped ringing. The debates, and the annoying post-debate comments from “experts,” are history—until the next election cycle.
